The Chateau Haut-Gilbert vineyards represent a total area of some 5 hectares (approximately 12,4 Acres).
3 Hectares (approximately 7,4 acres) for the red grape varieties made from Merlot. These grape varieties are planted on northwest-facing slopes in clay-gravel soils. These vines are over 20 years old.

2 hectares (approximately 5 acres) for the white grapes of Sauvignon. These variety is planted on the exposed south-west banks in gravel-clay soil.
